Even if Hezbollah starts something with Israel, US is first going to make diplomatic approaches via the UNFIL and try to calm things down. And trust me Hezbollah knows this that's why they are so much emboldened to day after day launch rockets into Israel...cause they know US ain't gonna straight away bomb them.

The warship are only contingency plans if things actually don't work out, the US is not going in guns blazing...period!

On the next part US has limited but valuable assets in the middle east take the oil fields in Eastern Syria, US men and women in Iraq these areas are all strong holds of Iranian backed militants and they aren't going to keep quiet if US intervenes.

In the End this puts US in a very sticky position right now (to commit or not to commit)...and it's best option is diplomacy!
