⚡ 🇨🇵 France in chaos again. Paris blockaded by French farmers
What started as a grassroots rally in mid-January has turned into a full-blown siege of the capital. Today, French farmers are threatening to blockade Paris to make their voices heard.
Agricultural unions are planning to block seven motorways leading into Paris. Between 1,500 and 2,500 tractors will take part in the blockade. The protesters want to disrupt the city's food supply "for at least 5 days, which will make it clear to Parisians that they need farmers".
While the French government cuts their money to finance Ukraine, cheap Ukrainian agricultural products flood their market and destroy their prices.
What are the farmers' main demands of the government?
▪️Adequate relief from rising fuel prices;
▪️Reduce cheap food imports from Ukraine;
▪️Denounce current agricultural policies that are damaging the EU economy;
▪️Tackling water scarcity;
▪️Reducing excessive bureaucracy (both in France and in the EU).
What counter-measures has the government announced?
🔹15,000 police officers mobilized to protect Paris, Rungis and the two main airports (Orly and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle);
🔹 the use of armored vehicles and helicopters against demonstrators if food markets and airports are occupied.

A horde of Islamists surrounded him and questioned why he was in ‘their’ neighborhood.
They threatened him and began chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ as they kicked him out.
A 65-year-old couple retiring in 2025 with average earnings will receive an estimated $1.34 million in lifetime benefits, while contributing only $720,000 in today’s dollars.
That shortfall—more than $600,000 per couple—is being made up by younger workers.
