🚨𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: 9News Australia is now reporting that the Digital ID Bill will 𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗦 through the lower house at the next Parliamentary sitting period which returns next Tuesday.

On 27 March — The Labor Government alongside The Greens and Independents forced a guillotine to ensure the Digital Identity Bill would be shoe-horned through the Senate.

A guillotine forces a time-limit on the bill as they think it’s urgent to pass through, and because the they’ve got a majority government, we “voted” for this to happen.

Public consultation for the bill commenced on 19 September to 10 October, 2023 — with a majority of them coming from big corporations which gave their support to the bill.

The Liberal-Coalition Government issued an exposure draft of the bill that would ultimately set up the Digital ID legal framework that we are faced with now.

Retire

A 65-year-old couple retiring in 2025 with average earnings will receive an estimated $1.34 million in lifetime benefits, while contributing only $720,000 in today’s dollars.

That shortfall—more than $600,000 per couple—is being made up by younger workers.
