Texas declares Diesel Emergency (joining Louisiana)
Gov. Abbott signed an emergency declaration regarding the price of diesel:
“Texas agriculture and freight run on diesel,” Abbott wrote in a statement. “Record prices put both industries at risk and raise costs for every Texas family. Farmers and truckers can now use dyed diesel on Texas roads, and fuel, crop, and timber loads can move at a higher weight. These steps cut costs on the farm, on the road and at the store.”
What's odd is that the tax is not waived. You're free to use the red-dyed diesel, but still have to keep track of the tax they WOULD be paying, and remit payment. So this really provides very little relief ...

The Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal opened proceedings on September 22 in the case, which was filed by the state service against the religious organization known as the Synodal Department Mission of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church for Family Affairs. The agency wants the department liquidated and all its property, funds, and other assets—except for liturgical items—transferred to state ownership.
